A lovely place with a good beach. Nice cabañas stay here if you visit the island. Breakfast was really nice.

Fantastic place to visit. I had lunch (food was amazing) and a tour around on a day trip... but definitely plan on coming back with my family for a longer stay.

This tourist hotel is booked by a fly fishing operator and promoted as Isla del Sabalo.

Quiet, gorgeous beach location. Cuisine fresh fish landed 60 yards away. Very friendly staff. Menu needs expanding, but I went there for fish and loved it.

5*s for the good points but it's important to understand what this place is and isn't. First, the people running the place are very kind and helpful. The restaurant is excellent - beautiful fresh fish, lovely avocado and tomato salads, excellent churros, decent prices. It is also very quiet, peaceful and a good base for fishing and eco tours. However, the sea is not swimmable and the beach sand is hard. The cabins are also basic - there is air con but no fridges, which is a great shame. Plus, it's an hour's detour on rutted roads to get there. Having said all of that, you're in a fishing village on Mexico's Gulf, the, place has a Steinbeckian quality (The Pearl), the locals seem nice and the beach dogs friendly, so if 6* $500 pn pseudo-eco-spa-resorts are not your thing, this place just might be a good pit stop - we're glad we went and thanks to the manager for all of the help

This is a lovely place to stay, and the trip we booked to go out through the mangroves and to see the flamingos (late February through to April) was magical
